Crannog Lithograph Print

A crannog is a type of ancient lough-dwelling found throughout Ireland and Scotland dating from 5,000 years ago. Many crannogs were built in the water as defensive homesteads and represented symbols of power and wealth. The shadowy images in the water in the foreground are a dug out canoe and a Tara brooch.
